Concept:
The “couve” characterizes itself by its similarities to a chinese cabbage, a cabbage being something very used in the Portuguese gastronomy and considered by many as a cultural symbol. This piece reminds us that more and more cultures are diffuse, and that fewer live connected to the Portuguese traditions and culture. And also fewer serve to the Portuguese production. We live immersed in increasingly universalized means, where the majority of the products we consume are “Made in China”. With the consumption of the chinese cabbage I intend to mock the Portuguese society that increasingly devalues and ignores what is done in Portuguese lands.
