Used the measurements of small wooden elephant figurine to shape and construct a 3' standing sculpture. It was constructed and formed using 16 gage rebar tie wire. Paper pulp was used to to sculpt the exterior.
Pop tabs were sewn together using fishing line. Making the once firm and fixed aluminum into a piece that is more flexible and changeable.
The sculpture was constructed using extruded polystyrene foam insulation. After the pieces were cut, it was then sanded, spackled, painted and assembled with glue. White was chosen as a paint color to highlight and define all of the curvilinear pieces.
The sea creatures were fist constructed from plaster using a pear mold. Then each piece was individually shaped and painted.
The wooden zipper measures 3' tall and was designed in AucoCAD. The wood was then cut using a table saw, band saw and jig saw. After sanding pieces were assembled by drilled wholes and glue.
