VIDA / Book Design
This was a book designed for mexican artist Alonso Gutierrez in late 2013. The main goal was to showcase his work throughout the years as well as his career highlights and biography.
The design was heavily influenced by his eclectic art style but presented in a more elegant and smooth form. The color palette consisted in primary colors and CMYK, which is evident on the page's headtitles resembling offset art. The typography is modern and sleek.
The artist's artwork is presented in full-page format, all photographs were provided by him. His work is divided in four categories, each category is introduced with a huge head title page which differs from the rest of the sections in order to match the full-page format in which the pieces are presented.
All collages consisted on pictures of his artwork, newspaper articles, events photographs and family pictures. Such collages were influenced by grunge art style to contrast with the rest of the spreads and attract the viewer's attention.
