Metal & Dust is Jack Green, a maker who creates amazing furniture from reclaimed materials that he finds in junk yards.

He’s also very much like us – he loves what he does and it really shows in his work. When his commissions started getting bigger, he thought it was time he looked at his image. He was doing lots right, he just needed some help to take it to the next level.

We were experimenting with deconstructing the letters, and found that the 2 fit together nicely to make a simple icon. It also looked like an an abstract fox – a nice nod back to how Jack finds his materials – scavenging through junk yards.

Jack’s work is all about finding new uses for unloved items – we didn’t want his image to look too polished or perfect, as it wouldn’t be a true representation of him or his work. We sourced tools that he could use to make his mark where he wanted – either burnt into wood or stamped into metal.

We commissioned Jack to create us some furniture for our Studio. Here’s the meeting table he created for us. The table is made from a large cable drum, the stools use brake disks, whiskey barrels and acrow props. The table even has a laser cut Side by Side plate and a beer ice bucket hidden away in the centre.
