Dear Viddy Community,
First of all, we would like to send out thoughts to those affected by Hurricane Sandy; we have received literally hundreds of Viddys from storm affected areas over the past day. The footage is pretty astounding and a little terrifying.
We’d like to share a few of the most impactful #Sandy Viddys that we’ve seen in the last 24 hours:
-Three brave individuals were shown fleeing the wrath of Sandy as it approached Chatham, MA.
-Something Wicked captured video of giant wind gusts as Hurricane Sandy touched down in Pennsylvania.
-University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s (@uwmilwaukee) video, Monster Waves in Milwaukee shocked us with footage of ocean-like waves crashing in Lake Michigan.
-We also saw this viddy of flood water rising in Northern Queens.
-There was another incredible video of the infamous crane collapse in Manhattan, which truly captured the intensity of Sandy in NYC.
-Hurricane Sandy Part 4 showed even more flooding in Connecticut.
-Some skaters in Montville, CT lightened the mood as they had fun in the Sandy aftermath with an awesome makeshift mini ramp.
-We even received a Viddy from @KatieCouric, showing the effects of the storm in Long Island.
-And, perhaps the most interesting #Sandy viddy portrayed some absolutely epic footage of an uprooted tree taking out several cars as it crashed to the street in Astoria.
