Golf Channel Goes to The Oscars

PARODY POSTERS CAMPAIGN
Birdman and Into The Woods were commissioned as a part of a marketing campaign led by the Golf Channel for the 2015 Oscar Awards. I had the opportunity to contribute to this campaign by creating two "parody posters" that would be pushed across all of Golf Channel's social media platforms in efforts to tie golf into mainstream pop culture via The Oscar Awards.
Not only did I create the graphics, but played a large part in the creative conceptulatiztion of this campaign. I researched the nominee's (and their movie posters) for possible golf connections I could parody in a creative way and then pitched my ideas for Birdman and Into The Woods to our marketing team. It was a really unique and enjoyable opportunity to be a part of the backstory as well as the creation and implementation of these posters on social media.
BIRDMAN, 2015
Michael Keaton isn't the only Birdman... Just ask any golf fan who watched the 2012 U.S. Open Tournament. Environmental activist Andrew Dudley, aka Birdman, stormed the closing ceremony of the U.S. Open with his now famous bird-calling skills just before getting arrested. This kind of excitement doesn't happen too often in the golf world, which is why Golf Channel took this opportunity and ran with it. I created this illustration for Golf Channel to promote across their social media platforms during the Oscar Awards. I am proud to say that both Webb Simpson, the winner of the U.S. Open that year and his old friend Birdman retweeted my artwork.
