Sketches & Randoms

This collection has a wide range of media. There are drawings / sketches, class project graphics, and just pure boredom "I need to design something" type of work.
April 2015: Drawing using iPad and Adobe Ideas. Focusing on just creating anything (no matter how ugly it is) helps start inspiration for the day.
May 2015: I used Adobe Ideas on an iPad and transferred it to my desktop in Photoshop. Added gradients, altered levels, and added a gradient texture.
April 2015: Adobe Ideas on iPad
March 2015: After being part of the Captain's Comic Expo, I had Super Heroes on the mind. With the help of my iPad and Adobe Ideas I used a photograph of Wonder Woman and added my own features. Her hair is longer and face is slightly different. I added the rest of her left hand, and torso. The bright colors and different brush strokes for the background mimic the comic style.
May 2015: Adobe Ideas, iPad. An illustration of my cat about to pounce
December 2014: Photoshop and Illustrator. This is a recipe from my mother's kitchen and was designed for her for Christmas. This print was created for an 8x10 frame. I used Photoshop to take a picture of a hummingbird, alter it to a vintage style drawing, and added glasses and a stethoscope to his neck. The flowers were made from ding bats in Illustrator. I made an image trace and edited each section to make a garland around the banner.
December 2014: Adobe Illustrator. This was designed for my father. He is an executive chef and had the most amazing chocolate chip cookies. He has used this recipe since I was a baby. My father has this written on a small piece of paper that always seems to get lost. Since this recipe means so much to our family, I decided to design a print to be framed for the kitchen. This design coincides with their kitchen decor. Using ornate floral and scroll images, I used Illustrator to clear out the tiny details of the scrolling edges. This makes them clean and simple, but it still maintains it's delicacy. Only family members know the secret ingredient. ;)
June 2014: Illustrator. I really wanted to make a power button for some reason. However, I learned that adding textures in Illustrator is almost always a bad idea. The end result was this. While using layers and gradients to manipulate to image, the power button look as if you could touch it.
November 2013: Designed in Illustrator for a Power Point presentation about Cloud Computing. The meaning of the presentation was to explain to an audience that had no idea what "the Cloud" meant. When designing this cover and cohesive slides, I used the dashed line going through the cloud to represent data being held within a cloud. This representation could possibly influence my audience to guess what cloud computing might be about.
May 2014: Illustrator. Without using exact shapes of the continents, people still knew it was Earth.
August 2014: Designed in Illustrator. The Golden Dinosaurs was a joke created by radio personality Drew Garabo on 102.5 The Bone in Tampa, FL when he was trying to say "The Gold and Diamond Stores" too fast. Silly I know, however, it was a fun way for me to exersise my skills and create something that I otherwise would not.
