The language is direct using first person to create a communication/engagement with the viewer, and the use of repitition is to emphasise the points being stressed...
Help Understand
Showing visual imagery of scenes taking during protests/marches in aid of the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Including a list of a small amount of young black lives that have been innocently taken due to the act of Police Brutality and victimisation. The long list of names in a repetitive style is to emphasise the amount of deaths caused by the sensless action of the law enforcement system. The message of "we don't play the victim, we are the victim" is a summarisation of the imagery used, and is to make the intended viewer understand how the black community is still being wrongly judged and stereotyped...
Equality -
The purpose of this design is to show although all the squares are different colours and the drop shadow weight on each square is varied, they are still all display the same thing and are all equal. Inspiration came from a paint colour chart booklet (hence the colour names) which symbolises different race skin tones...
