These illustrations use the natural contours and shadows found within the image to create the different coloured segments. By using a monochromatic colour scheme it makes the main focus to be on the individual features and segments in the image creating a different visual hierarchy to what a normal colour scheme would have. 
They were created for an advertising campaign for Paul Smith that would feature in magazines.
