A series of portraits I painted to celebrate twelve Modern Masters of their craft. All these musicians were born in North America between 1975-1980, and all of them helped shape the current musical landscape.
I chose this category for two reasons, first of all being that I myself am a male artist born in North America in 1979. Second, I believe 1975-1980 are golden years for indie rock birth dates.
I approached these paintings like I would a traditional oil painting, working from the ground up. First drawing, then underpainting, overpainting and finally highlights.
