Keeping cost as the most important factor, stoneware was fired to terracotta temperature, durable for the purpose. This considerably reduced the firing cost.
Stamps were used to provide texture and terracotta slip was applied for contrast. This added value while keeping the process of making quick and less time consuming. for a quick process.
