For this project, i picked on the topic on “Anti-capitalism”. I illustrated Uncle penny bag because he represent money. On the hands of Uncle penny bag with the illuminati sign which I illustrated as well to show that he or that particular character belong to the 1% or a powerful group that control us. Initially, for the masses, I wanted them to not have the masks on but then the idea got into me that guy fawkes masks not only is iconic and it is commonly found during a “riot” or in an act or rebellious.
In this image, I gave each character a personality. Uncle Penny Bag as the capitalist and masses wearing the guy fawkes mask to represent they are from all walks in life, which also represent the 99%.
I decided to illustrate Uncle penny bag being punished and having his hand being pulled out by the masses because those are the hands that are “stealing” from us. Stealing not only material things but also out souls.
Lastly, the chosen colours on the silkscreen suggest the colour of money, the US dollar note. All in all, I feel that every elements here gels well along with each other.
