Summary
Our team of 3 University of Washington graduate students performed a task-oriented
usability study of Skype for Windows Desktop, with the goal of
- identifying usability problems
- informing product design
- extending the Skype team’s prior usability work on Skype enterprise applications
The study tested 10 participants, grouped by 2 user personas, across 35 tasks covering a range of Skype features.
We evaluated participant satisfaction, perceived time on task, and fidelity experiences on a 5-point scale, using Microsoft’s Experience Outcome (XO) framework to relate user tasks to product goals.
