Crashing Waves At Spiky Beach

It's a cold winters day on Tasmania's east coast and the wind is whipping up the sea into a foamy frenzy. There is a break in the clouds, the rain stops and I pull off the highway and go down onto the beach to grab some photos. Soon the rain is back, the sun vanishes behind the clouds and I'm on my way again.

Spiky Beach is located on Tasmania's east coast, a few minutes south of Swansea on the western edge of Great Oyster Bay. From here you can see Freycinet National Park and Schouten Island on the far side of the bay.
