Bad Medicine: Premium Whisky

Bad Medicine: Premium Whisky
Student Work

Bad Medicine is a premium whisky brand concept developed to be a tongue-in-cheek homage to loopholes in Prohibition-era laws that allowed the legal sale of alcohol for medicinal use in pharmacies. As part of the Packaging Design class at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, this beverage packaging design is an exercise in creating packaging for a product in a saturated market as well as designing within the constraints of Canadian food and beverage labelling requirements.

The label is styled from prescription pads where various fields can be filled in by the whisky maker to describe the unique product to the consumer. The handwritten numbering for bottle number, batch number, age, and signature reinforces the idea of care and attention of the whisky makers and their product.
