The brief was to choose a director and use the power of type to promote a retrospective screening of their films.
I decided to choose Christopher Nolan and showcase his three films ‘Memento’, ‘The Prestige’ and ‘Inception’. I branded ‘The Christopher Nolan Trilogy’ event to be held for a month at Dundee Contemporary Arts. As the films are psychological thrillers, the tagline for the event is ‘Prepare to be mindf*!?ed’.
The campaign includes a motion piece, three posters and cinema tickets. In the motion piece text portrays the architecture and effects seen in the film ‘Inception’. The three posters and cinema tickets, are produced in the style of polaroids. This relates to ‘Memento’ where the main character has short-term memory loss. He scribbled notes, takes polaroids and tatooed notes and symbols on himself to remember important information.
