ShareBoat is a start-up company that approached Methys to build a cutting-edge solution for the French boat charter market where boat owners and boat enthusiasts can come together. The solution allows users to book and pay for boats belonging to various boat owners on the website. This unique offering will enable boat lovers to find all kinds of boats any where in France.

The website was built using a responsive layout that provides a better user experience on all available screen sizes. The functionalities include the ability for boat owners to set up their own profile and add boats with specific availability dates.

 

Customers that want to rent a boat can filter the offer according to various criteria and are then able to send a rental request that must be accepted by the boat owners. A complex KYC compliant payment system allow customers to transfer their payment funds to an Escrow wallet that is managed by Shareboat. Shareboat uses this Escrow wallet to process the payments once a rental is successfully completed or can alternatively refund the customer.

 

Methys also developed a back-end system allowing ShareBoat administrators to moderate the marketplace, access reporting and statistics on all transactions, as well as update the website content.
