Harbor Park Research & Design Philly U Project

(This is a class project only and does not involve the actual Spruce Street Harbor Park.)
The Harbor Park project consisted of gathering research, venue exploration and user exploration. Then I used what I collected to gain insight into the venue goals, as well as its visitors goals. Finally, I created deliverables that can be easily used to create mockups and given to programmers to create the final product.
VENDOR & USER RESEARCH
A visit to Spruce Street Harbor Park quickly supplied a weath of knowledge. I visited on both a Saturday and Sunday, staying from opening to closing to gain insight on the environment, the activities, the visitors and the overall venue experience.
Daytime offered a casual park atmosphere .
Daytime consisted of social activity with easy-going environment.
The park was reminiscent of the shore towns from neighboring New Jersey.
Nighttime offered a visual delight and became more boardwalk than park.
The hammock park and beer gardens were the main attractions during the evenings.
With research in hand, a quick snapshot and navigation layout for the website was created. I then constructed a sitemap, content hierarchies, content inventories.
ORGANIZATION & STRUCTURE
WIREFRAMING
With information and structure in place, I created the wireframes in Balsamiq that were then handed over to the next person on the team to create the final design mockups.
