RESEARCH
I spent an entire day with David, the store manager, inside the Briar Vintage store. It truly was like stepping back in time, and there were moments where I felt as though I was in my own grandfather's bedroom, tracing his tie pins and shirt cuffs with my fingers, running my hands through his closet of clothes.
The store was maticulously kept and items were arranged with precision. This was all done by the store manager, David, who was as much a part of Briar Vintage as the store items themselves. David is a proud Philadelphian and speaks with pride about the city and a time where quality and work went hand in hand.
Interview with David, the manager of Briar Vintage.
The items in Briar Vintage are like found treasures to browsing customers and regulars seemed to love showing off the place to friends and getting the chance to see and talk to David himself.
USER PERSONAS
UI DESIGN
I started out with pencil on paper to come up with some structure and layout ideas.
Then I moved on to create a sitemap and wireframes for the site design.
STYLE TILES
I wanted a vintage look for the site design, but also a color pallete that worked with the user and todays interactive patterns for building the site out.
A UI Kit was created for the site and used to create the final mockups.
