"PRAVDA" poster and flyer design

I was asked to create a poster and flyer-back design for a production of Howard Brenton and David Hare's 1980s satire on Fleet Street. I worked with the production team to come up with a newspaper front page design to be included on the poster, including headlines from the play, copy for the news stories and photographs of the cast which I then photoshopped into relevant scenarios. In keeping with the themes of deception and hiding of the truth ('pravda' means truth in Russian, and of course is also a Russian newspaper associated with the Communist Party), I placed the newspaper over the face of our Lambert Le Roux, and created a tear effect in order to show his eyes. I went on to design the set, which was an enormous front page complete with changing titles, relevant 1980s stories and a screen on which to project changing images.
