Overview: I hand picked four months of the year, one representing each season and designed a calendar page for each experiementing with how type and image interact.
Each month has a song that I correlate with each respective season. I started with trying to illustrate a quote from each song and I hit a wall really fast, I was being too literal. I then looked to a more abstract representation of music - soundwaves.
I tried a lot of different layouts before landing one I thought was successful. I was struggling to find a place where the quote can live within the piece, along with the soundwaves, the month and the days. I had too many parts trying to interact with one another. Less is more, so I simplified and came up with the final piece.
