As a cornerstone of the support network for the Chicago Jewish community, Madraigos Midwest endeavors to assist individuals in need with life’s many challenges, including parenthood. The organization’s Esformes Family Parent Support Center offers various programs aimed at parents seeking education and guidance under the direction of its clinical supervisor, Rabbi Jerry Lob, PsyD.
The Parent Support Center’s efforts have long focused on communicating directly with parents, which it accomplishes through a weekly Parent Support Group as well as individual consultations at the center and via phone. In addition to providing these services, the center’s staff gives guest lectures and presentations designed to equip parents with the tools necessary to raise their children successfully. Although the center’s resource library offers its own wealth of information, Madraigos Midwest also provides small-group Parenting Workshops to help parents with specific topics, age groups, and other issues.
