This collection of birthday cards was designed to create a series of 6 cards with a coherant theme and design which can be sold in local card shops. I wanted to keep costs low by only using one die, so created a set of designed that varied through the digital print behind the foil.

 

I drew the typography for the foiled area by hand, before scanning it and finishing it digitally using a Wacom pen tablet. The bunnies, ants, pineapples and diamonds are all originally hand drawn too.

 

To keep a luxury feel consitent with the foil embossing effect I chose to have the cards printed on 300 gsm laid card, and decided on recycled kraft paper envelopes so that the products don't feel too commercial, in line with the hand drawn typography.
