With 4 weeks at our disposal, at our sculpting 101 course, I took on the challange of creating Groot. Why? Well, honestly, I think I just needed an excuse, to go to the cinema on my tight student budget.

As this was my first time in Z-Brush, naturally I pulled out most of my hair cursing and swearing at the interface and navigational controls (I come from 3ds Max). 

Ultimately I prevailed, and actually went ahead and won the first prize in my class. The poster above is the final image, handed in for evalutation and voting after 4 weeks of intense work, swearing, cursing and hair pulling.

I plan to pull the character into 3ds Max, and do some proper lighting, rendering and redo the post work - That, however, will be an event to come.
