Personal Class Ring

I made my own class ring. I didnt want it to be a traditional style class ring, instead I wanted it to capture the two aspects of my time at MassArt:
Industrial Design and Metal Sculpture.
My final design was to 3D print one half of the ring to represent my Industrial Design work, and to join that with hand forged pattern steel to represent my Sculpture work.
Using some spare pattern welded steel, I made a basic ring shape and then polished it. This is roughly 120 layers of steel. I would continue to refine the shape and reduce the width until it was about 3/8" and until it roughly matched the CAD model I created of the other half.

The two halves are epoxied together, and then I melted the ABS plastic slightly at the seam to add strength to the joint.
