My final major project was about the city. I focussed on Katowice in Poland and created this book from the images that I took from my study abroad in Katowice. The main images were created using a Risograph printer, which I then scanned and placed into InDesign to create the book itself. I worked with a limited colour pallate (especially limited by the limited amount of colours available to me with the Risograph printer), so this has given the images a bold and interesting look.
Front Cover Image
The cover was inspired by the sign on the top of the main station in Katowice. It is a bit of a landmark and I felt it was a suitable image to use as it was simple and bold.

The colours are deliberately misaligned in the images. I like the effect it created, plus it was also easier to not try to perfectly register everything with the Risograph printer.
Inside the Back cover
I based the title page, and the end page on European road signs - it gives the effect that you are travelling through the city.
I used a map inside the covers to give some idea of the layout of the city, but didn't put any of the names of the places to make them a bit of a mystery.
