Following the 2011 Southeast Asian Games, the 6th ASEAN Para Games will be held from 12 to 22 December 2011, in Surakarta (Solo), Central Java, Indonesia. Solo’s Manahan Stadium will be the main Games venue. Singapore will be sending a contingent of 36 athletes and 21 officials to compete in five sports - Athletics, Badminton, Swimming, Tenpin Bowling and Table Tennis. The ASEAN Para Games serves as an opportunity to prepare athletes for the Paralympic Games.Patterned after the Paralympic Games, the ASEAN Para Games is a bi-annual regional multi-sport event held two weeks after the end of every Southeast Asian Games.
