Background Image depicts the relationship between the body and the environment. The environment nurtures the body, molding identities with environmental change and fluxes. The work seeks to justify the body as an entitiy on its own, seperate from the envrionment it inhabits. 

 

As each piece of tape is ripped from the body, the body starts to take form. The action is violent but the body remains still, suggesting a comfort in confrontation of the body and the environment.
