Devil's Soup
In the mid to late 1800’s in San Antonio, Texas, authentic chili became widely popular. However some swore this dish was the “Soup of the Devil”. When lone outlaws would travel miles across the southwest they would be visited by the devil himself. He would lure them in with his bowls of red, and take their souls. Thus, unfolding the history of the name Devil’s Soup.
The identity portrays a bowl engulfed by flames representing the intensity of flavour in the food. Illustration and typography are used to create dimension within the brand. To convey the authenticity of this dish the branding focuses on elegant cuisine with a playful twist; much like chili itself.
