Hello, How Are You? explores the principles and processes of visualizing data and working with statistical information. The subject matter for this project was personal consumption. Intrigued by the 21st century’s obsession with personal devices and social media accounts, I decided to track my social interactions with people. For two weeks with a customized chart, I obsessively tracked my daily social interactions such as, who I spoke to, what medium or platform I communicated with them on, the topics discussed, location of interaction and reasons for interaction.
The infographic focuses on the differences between virtual and real-life interactions and strives to bring attention towards our own interactions with people, how we connect with them and the quality of the connection. Hello How Are You, shines light on the idea that depending on how we use technology, it can be both beneficial and detrimental to the way we connect with others and our surrounding world.
