In lahore, originally known as The Walled City, where I live, there is an area / neighbourhood / prefecture named Cavalry ground. Folk Lore says that Lahore's king sent a cavalry Rider out on his horse from the Walled City and bade him ride as far as the horse could physically go at a steady run. When the beast grew tired and stopped, the rider marked the city's first line of defense, for he knew from that location, attacking cavalry would tire before reaching the City.
This area now lies within the heart of town.
