This project started as doodles and as an exercise for using the PILOT parallel pen. I started doing several sheets of exercises for it and then several other sheets of sketches.
This is one of the first sketches after the warm up period. However te diagonal made the "r" too much like an "e" so it was scraped.
After some work I got to the final rough sketch and was ready for the vectorizing of the rough lettering.
the small lines you can see are simple markers for me to know where the "weaving" of the lines would take place (which one goes under and the sort).
Finally I get the lines clean and ready for the positive to be made. As you can see te "weaving" has taken place and the adornment serifs now snake throughout the stems of the characters.
The final product were these half letter or an A5 for the europeans. The ink is matte vinil in metalic silver, though it needed to be used pretty thin due to the straight and detailed corners and twists.
