Musang Berjanggut (Bearded Fox)

In 2014, Arttee Apparel contacted me and had asked me to submit a design for their first launch of t-shirts.

They gave me an open brief and as all open briefs go, it was a challenge. I turned to finding inspiration from my heroes and I decided to do an homage to the legend, P. Ramlee

I've always been curious on what's the meaning behind some of his movies, and I remembered one that stood out from the rest. Musang Berjanggut, translated meaning "Bearded Fox" was a story of an adopted prince, who was asked by his adopted father to find himself a bride, so that he can inherit the kingdom. The prince then goes on the search for his bride across the land. You can read the rest of the synopsis from this wikipedia entry and you can watch the entire movie here. (thank you uploader)
So I tried to imagine what would The Bearded Fox look like.
Arttee Apparel was kind enough to send me a tshirt and they also printed the design on their business card.
Cafe Bureau also liked the design and decided to buy canvas prints (together with a few other of my artworks)

THANKS FOR WATCHING!
