The capstone project for my drafting degree, we were tasked with the design and illustration of a mechanical casket lift for the First Baptist Church of Waco. The project entailed multiple site visits, monetary restrictions, weight limits, and the interpretation of consumer needs.
This is the design for the top "basket" of the final lift design. It is big enough to hold a casket with two pallbearers or two motorized scooters as the case may be.
As per request, two versions of the lifting mechanism were conceived. This is the hydraulic version.
