EL PAÍS — ICONS
Communication agency *Mr. John Sample…/*S,C,P,F…, under their art direction, commissioned us to design a family of icons for El País, Spain’s most read newspaper.
The icons needed personality and differentiation from classical newspaper icons. As a main challenge, we were asked to make them suitable for very small sizes. The categories we had to synthesize were culture, leisure, fashion, technology, food, children, sports and home.
Our solution, knowing the icons would live in an editorial environment, was to base our designs on Text Wrap, a classic tool from text edition softwares.
