I started making these laser cut Daruma doll necklaces a few months ago and finally got around to assembling them this week.

They are based on one of my original illustrations and are now available to buy in my Etsy shop. 

The red version costs $30 and the gold version is available for $38.

This is my original illustration which inspired the necklace design. 

 

Daruma dolls are considered to be symbolic talismans, given as gifts to encourage luck and perseverance. The dolls are bought with blank eyes - the recipient paints one eye in to signify a goal or wish. The second eye is painted upon fulfilling the goal.

 

The one-eyed Daruma serves as a reminder to focus on what you wish to achieve.
