Imaginary Museum is a project presented at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), which introduces a collaborative experience between curators and graphic designers where curators at MICA develop a concept for an imaginary museum and designers brand that imaginary museum.

I chose Hive Institute, which vears slightly from the typical definition of a museum. Hive Institute is an intensive summer program that selects top-tier middle school students from around the world to submerge themselves in a collaborative, developmental, and performing artistic experience, which in the end, prepares them to become artistic leaders in their home communities. At the end of each summer, the students put on a collaborative performance in various locations around the world.

The branding uses scattered circles to symbolize bees and students in an active, social, collaborative environment. The most important part of the summer comes, when the students are sent out to activate or swarm spaces with their artistic performance. I use warm, vibrant colors to resonate with young students, but also to resonate with summer. In the logo, I use Brandon Grotesque and in posters and body text, Adobe Jenson Pro is used as a contrast and interesting spin on this contemporary branding.
