Minnesota State Fair mobile site

THE PROBLEM:
The Minnesota State Fair organization was in need of a mobile experience for their guests to utilize during the 12 days of the "Great Minnesota Get Together". The goal would be for visitors to have real-time access to the various website tools to locate entertainment, exhibitors, and most importantly: the Food Finder.
MY ROLE:
As the web designer, I was responsible for concepting, designing, and the front-end development of the overall mobile experience. Working closely with their external web development team, I was able to adapt the features of the primary website into a simple and intuitive UI. Due to the interference of so many mobile devices fighting for signal in such a small space, an important goal of the project was to keep the page weight as light as possible.
THE OUTCOME:
The mobile site was successfully launched a few days prior to the opening of the fair. During the 12 days, millions of visitors flooded into the mobile site, and were able to easily enhance their state fair experience.
