When the call for Desktopography 2011 exhibition showed up in my inbox, I knew the expectations were going to be even higher than the previous year. Brainstorming for this piece was a bit challenging. I was after an organic aesthetic which would really put a central focus on the concept. I started with observing masonic symbolism, its origins and meanings. I ended up at the top. The “top” referring to the 33 rd degree which is the highest in Freemasonry. Through this piece, I’ve tried to visualize the supremacy, order and wisdom one receives after reaching the 33 rddegree. There’s a bit of symbolism there as well for all the keeners who have a bit of knowledge on Freemasonry.

I’ve captured the process for everyone who appreciates the nitty gritty. Be sure to check it out at the bottom. It’s a time-lapse from start to finish showing everything involved in the completion.
