Randy Clark, M.F.A.'s profile

The front of the funeral program I created for Don Farris Clark. My father was an amazing man, having endured a broken home, and getting into trouble as a youth, he joined the Marines and went to college. Graduating in ROTC, he married his sweetheart, flew jet fighters for the Air Force.

After retiring from the military, Dad went back to school, and earned a Masters degree, taught high school, then went to Saudi Arabia to teach pilots how to fly large planes. Then he returned and worked for American Airlines doing the same thing. Retiring at age 72, he was approached by American Airlines to work for another year with an offer of doubling his salary, which he declined. But life wasn't over yet; he and Mom traveled to Costa Rica and performed missionary service.

It was a remarkable life by any measure. His most important quality was that of a family man. When he caught cancer, we knew his life would end. That however, did not make things easier. He was such a good father, always having time for his children, always eager to listen to them, always supportive. He rarely lost his temper. How I miss him.
