Nelson Alyse Monster Project

With the use of the website Pinterest.com I was able to gather a lot more ideas for my monster project. This allowed me to explore ideas and other creative works to build my own. Without the use of outside sources, I would have been confined to my own mind. Looking at other peoples vectors of not just monsters, but creatures helped me to get a bigger picture of what my monster should look like and what it should encompass. I was able to research not just monsters and creatures as whole, but pick apart the pieces of their make-up. I could look at different eye designs, and different ways to sculpt their bodies.
When I was done researching and gathering ideas, I started to build my monster from my own ideas and concepts I had adapted. I wanted my monster to be cute and loveable, and to live in a place you might not typically find monsters. I love going to the movies, and the floor is always dirty and grimy, which is a place I picture a monster living, and enjoying themselves. Monsters live happily in places that we as humans wouldn’t necessarily enjoy living.
Technology allows you to learn from other artists because now you can see an entire artist’s line of work displayed on one screen. You can research and reach out to the artist at the click of your mouse if you really have a desire to. Technology is allowing art to be a lot more accessible and appreciated by more people.
