Rebranding the merged America West/US Airways
Beginning with, and based upon, the design of the new aircraft livery, all aspects of the new US Airways visual branding were designed by Creative Services, under my leadership. The Heritage logo and the tagline, Fly with US, were developed by me.
Shown here – pages from the brand guidelines manual
Additonal pages from the US Airways brand guidelines manual showing various aspects of how brand elements are treated across some of the pieces that are created by Creative Services.
Specialty AIrcraft Liveries
Unique liveries were created for states, heritage airlines that made up the history of US Airways, and sports teams that the airline sponsored. This last category is represented here in the livery I designed for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On-time Airline Award campaign
A national campaign based on the US Department of Transportation awarding US Airways the #1 on-time airline for 2008. Elements included full-page ads in USA Today and regional newspapers, plus airport banners and outdoor across the country.
Triple-play Airline Award campaign
Another national campaign based on the US Department of Transportation awarding US Airways the #1 airline for on-time performance, baggage handling, and customer satisfaction 2010. Elements included full-page ads in USA Today and regional newspapers across the country.
Magazine ads
Two examples of ad designs that contain imagery
I created in Photoshop.
Envoy – InternationalBusiness-class Service
Two ads for US Airways highest class of service.
Ad on the left for the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction program.
US Airways Vacations travel agent ads
Cover wraps, spreads and full-page ads occurred frequently, as travel agents were (and still are, to a lesser extent) a very important part of vacation sales.
Cargo Sales posters – internal
Two examples of employee facing posters for US Postal Service contracts. 3-D illustration created by Juan Fernendez, one of my designers.
Metro stations domination
This campaign announced a significant increase in service from DCA by dominating two Metro stations with banners, pillar-wraps, dioramas, duratrans, floor-graphics and door signage. Promotion included daily special events for thirty days.
The “30 Days for DC” logo was created by our outside agency. Creative Services inherited the campaign after the logo was created.
New International Service from Charlotte
A campaign announcing new service to four European cities. Wallscapes, banners newspaper ads, and web banners comprised the elements of this campaign.
Comps for Destination Leisure campaign
Shown here are my conceptual comps for a campaign for the short-lived Destination Leisure division of America West. This division was a direct-to-travel-agent business. The client was sold on this creative, but I steered them towards another concept, due to the difficulty in producing these in the time required. The final campaign would have required extensive photo shoots to achieve. Many stock photo elements were altered to create the scenes shown here.
