Nachos Con Carne (UPDATED 2019)

2011 (ongoing)
Internet comic project
The single-color customizable logo consists of homemade retro-style lettering on a thick black outline. The white text is slightly tilted to reflect the general theme of the comic, in that it doesn't exactly "fit in" the outline.
What happens when the world's biggest loser suddenly has a social life?

How many friends would you sell your soul to make?

If high school IS a musical, does that make junior high Disneyland?

These questions and many others may or may not be answered in the online comic NACHOS CON CARNE, a coming-of-age story gone horribly, horribly wrong.

You've got front-row seats to the fall of Western civilization.

Updates Mondays and Thursdays at nachosconcarne.cartoonsdammit.com
First row, l-to-r: Renée Caverstein, Katrina Ratcliffe, Terry Kupowski, Bonnie Shizumoto; Second row, l-to-r: Phoebe Podgorney, Spencer Edwards, Mike Wenchell, Ludwig Braithwaite
Do you like coming-of-age tweencoms on TV where everybody’s pretty, the laughter’s always canned, and life lessons are learned in thirty minutes or less or your next Aesop is free?

Well, my semi-weekly updated internet comic Nachos Con Carne ISN’T like that. But it’s still good.

Follow Terry, Katrina and an ever-growing group of outcasts and misfits as they go to school, put up with their idiot classmates and prepare for a life of pre-established gender roles, mind-numbing societal obligations and soul-crushing reality.

Not that they haven’t had a dose of it already, but still…

It’s about the journey from ignorance to awareness, from childhood to maturity, and dealing with people who would much rather remain ignorant children…or, in some cases, wish OTHER PEOPLE would remain ignorant children.

It’s also quite funny in places.
