This was my first attempt at an abstract 3D doodle. I did the modelling/lighting/compositing in only about 5 hours but the rendering itself took forever (the solids have some fresnel transparency, and that combined with the global illumination made for some stupidly long render times - even when I nerfed most of the settings down pretty low. I rendered for about 100 hours while experimenting with the settings, and rendered for 30 hours to get the final render I used.
