Personality Percepts

The purpose of this series is to re-evaluate the degree to which one’s character is reflected in his/her appearance, and to prove how much more is beyond that: character, depth, and personalities.

The models featured were actively involved in the art-making process. I gave each a survey; based on their immediate instincts, a color and design is chosen. After they selected the constraints, I used the color chosen as the watercolored background, and the pattern chosen to ink their portrait onto the paper. Thus the person pictured has participated with me, the artist, to create an honest representation of their character.
