20.001 : Architecture Core Studio 1 - Project 3
The third project asks for a design within a natural space in One North area. The actual conditions of the plot like slope, existing trees, close buildings framing the space, accessibility, close amenities, potential users, character of the different traffic roads, etc - will be taken into account to design a building carefully designed and connected to its close environment.
The project will develop strategies for dealing with an urban context but extremely natural at the same time, and explore how to combine in a whole design the required exterior and interior spaces. Design will be carefully inserted in the site, and an increased level of control in geometry and definition - materiality , thicknesses, enclosure - will be required for this exercise.
