WEB // Anthony's House of Formals

This was a redesign of a website for a local tuxedo company in Rhode Island.  They're great at what they do and they really wanted to express how genuine their services are compared to other tuxedo rental stores.   They wanted their website to be something that customers could use as a resource for their formalwear needs.  They wanted to set themselves apart from other places by offering honest information and innovative service.  Tuxedos as a rental industry has been in decline for some years due to many factors, but has a lot to do with the industry's short comings.

Anthony's house of formals has been around since 1942 and they plan on sticking around for many years to come.  For the redesign I wanted to retain some of that vintage charm and their history.  But I also wanted to create something that reflects their innovative thinking and fresh take on an otherwise stagnant industry.  What I ended up with, was a clever and playful solution that reflects the forward thinking of their company.  They want to keep it fresh.  So they decided that they would come out with articles every month that cover a myriad of formalwear/style conundrums.  So the home page is really about showing off their articles and is the first taste the viewer gets of the company.

It turned out to be something that could be presented casually, but have enough depth to be taken seriously.  A casual conversation about formalwear.  But these guys are serious about what they do and I think that the imagery, although playful has plenty of substantial content to support it.  The perfect marriage of content and design.
