Ray Archuleta is a Conservation Agronomist at the NRCS East National Technology Center, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Ray teaches soil health and the principles of agroecology throughout the country. He recently discussed where agriculture is headed in the 21st century, on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at the South Dakota State University Campus located in Brookings, SD.

Deron Ruesch, district conservationist for the Clay County USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Vermillion, SD, and Soils Camp presenter, shared a high-five with Lauren Bern and her peers after a friendly soil probe pushing contest to see which school’s team could retrieve the best soil profile to evaluate at River Appreciation Day. Vermillion Middle School and St. Agnes School, Vermillion, and Centerville Public School, Centerville, SD, gave the probe their best push.
