Story
The 4th location of Simplethings Sandwich. Salad. Pie is an interior design project I prepared for Douglas Emmett Builders in Santa Monica, CA. The project is currently in the permitting process and is being handled by their in-house architect. Located on the retail ground floor of their company owned building, the take-out venue is meant to serve their on site employees as well as the general public.
This project was smaller in scale than the new Burbank location and was initiated by Douglas Emmett Builders themselves, who served as the main client. The concept was fairly straight forward with the idea to create something similiar to the existing 3rd street location with elements of the Burbank design.
Existing Building
The project was pretty straight forward. By the time I got the project, the space was already built out with HVAC and most accessibility features in place. It just needed the look and a set of detailed plans (shown below).
