LOBBY INTO MAIN GALLERY PERSPECTIVE
PROJECT: The Germantown Cultural Museum is to serve as a bridge between then and now; it is to be constructed as a tribute to the community's history. Committed to the primacy of the visitor experience, its collections will embody the rich diverse heritage of Germantown and interpret them through a dynamic and innovative way. The museum aims at drawing visitors in through its striking appearance and encouraging them to explore how the town first began and the development of its culture through time. The exhibits consist of digital images that can be set on a slide show. In addition, there are touch screens which display descriptions for each of the historical imagse and allows the visitor to explore more about what interests them at a particular display. Some exhibits alsofeature mini videos which can be heard through headphones.
CONCEPT: The musuem is an interpretation and intertwining of the past with the present, utilizing interlocking volumes thus creating a cohesive timeline.
